Lahore: Every year, 15th of May is celebrated as World Orthodontic Health Day under the banner of World Federation of Orthodontics. This year’s theme slogan is “The world unites when people smile”. WFO created a special logo and posters that established the brand identity of this annual celebration.
World Federation of Orthodontics strives to encourage high standards of orthodontics, throughout the world. Their logo aims to become a recognized icon of orthodontic care across the globe; the symbol of harmony represents the coming together of legendary spirit, thus Olympic colors signify people, of every race and color coming together for orthodontic health.
In collaboration with the International community, Sharif Medical and Dental College celebrated World Orthodontic Health Dag. Prof. Dr. Col. Iffat Batool, Principal, Sharif College of Dentistry and Head of Department Orthodontics, stressed upon the need for increasing orthodontic health awareness among general population, for the prevention and management of orthodontic problems.
At Sharif Medical & Dental College, a well-equipped department of orthodontics exists where multiple treatment modalities are offered to the patients, at par with international standards such as fixed orthodontics, removable orthodontics, functional jaw orthopedics, orthognathic surgery and treatment of cleft lip and palate. Sharif Center for Cleft Lip & Palate SCCLAP was inaugurated a year ago, and is serving individuals affected by the craniofacial deformity of cleft lip and palate, free of cost.
