PESHAWAR: The Health Care Commission (HCC) has enforced a strict ban on trainee doctors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, disallowing them from operating private clinics, as per a recent directive.
The letter issued by the commission explicitly bars doctors associated with the Post Graduate Medical Institute from engaging in any private clinic practice.
The newly implemented regulation extends to all under-training doctors, categorically forbidding their involvement in private healthcare facilities.
Notably, the Health Care Commission has emphasised that it is a violation of established norms for doctors serving in government hospitals to concurrently manage private clinics or offer their services in private healthcare setups.
In an effort to ensure compliance, the commission has initiated the process of gathering comprehensive data pertaining to private clinics and the employment status of trainee doctors in private medical institutions.
The commission has warned of stringent measures to uphold these regulations, underscoring its commitment to maintaining high standards within the medical fraternity.
The order shows the commission's commitment to promoting excellence in the provision of healthcare services to the people of the province.
