YDA Sindh team discusses doctors’ issues with JPMC head

KARACHI: A delegation from the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh, discussed various problems faced by doctors during a meeting with the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) executive director and congratulate him on the extension of his tenure for another two years.

The delegation, led by Chairman Dr. Mehboob Noonari, included YDA Sindh Senior Vice Chairman Dr. Majeed Jatoi, Vice Chairman Dr. Mehran Shar, JPMC YDA President Dr. Ammar Danish, and spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Ali.

During the meeting, the YDA representatives raised several critical concerns, stressing the importance of the timely disbursement of monthly stipends for house officers and postgraduate trainee doctors.

They suggested that attendance records of HOs and trainees be collected between the 5th and 10th of each month to streamline the process.

The delegation also discussed the adjustment of recently promoted medical officers (MOs) to higher grades (scales 17 to 18 and 19) and urged the creation of additional posts to accommodate these promotions within JPMC.

Hospital security was another major topic, with the YDA advocating for stronger support from both the administration and security personnel to enhance patient safety and ensure effective hospital management
