Nine more people die of coronavirus across Sindh

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah recently said the coronavirus claimed nine more lives overnight, lifting the death toll to 2,367, and infected 319 others, raising the tally to 128,284.

In a statement issued here from CM House, he said that nine more patients lost their lives while struggling against Covid-19 lifting the death toll to 2,367 that constituted 1.8 per cent death rate.

Mr Shah said that 319 new cases of coronavirus emerged when 9,027 samples were tested that constituted four per cent current detection. So far 953,027 samples have been conducted which detected 128,284 cases that came to overall 13 detection rate, he added.

Murad Ali Shah said that 771 patients recovered overnight and so far 121,915 patients recovered constituting 95 per cent recovery rate. He said that currently, 4,002 patients were under treatment, of them 3,677 in-home isolation, seven at isolation centres and 318 at different hospitals.

The CM added that the condition of 190 patients was stated to be critical, of them 31 shifted to ventilators. According to the CM, out of 319 new cases, 160 have been detected in Karachi, including 71 in South, 5 in East, 15 in Central, eight in Korangi, six in Malir and one in West.
