ISLAMABD: The Federal Investigation Agency's Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad has initiated legal proceedings against Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan (Drap).
The FIA spokesperson says the case stems from allegations that Mr Hussain secured his CEO appointment based on a fraudulent PhD degree.
He said that the presented degree of the suspect was found to be counterfeit.
Mr Hussain served as the CEO of Drap during the years 2018 and 2019.
FIA has formed raiding teams to apprehend the accused, the spokesperson says.
