CDC approves Pfizer boosters for aged, high-risk Americans

GEORGIA - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently supported a Pfizer's booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine for aged 65 and above Americans, some adults with underlying medical conditions and some adults in high-risk settings.

After the authorisation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the CDC recommendation clears the way for a booster rollout to commence as soon as possible for people who had their second dose of the Pfizer shot at least six months ago.

Earlier, an advisory panel to the agency did not recommend boosters for people in high-risk jobs, such as teachers and risky living conditions.
