KARACHI: The occurrence of a second case of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) has been reported in Karachi this month.
A spokesperson from the Sindh Health Department has confirmed another instance of the Congo virus in Karachi. The affected individual, a 55-year-old resident of Orangi Town, has tested positive for the Congo virus. This patient was admitted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) two days ago, and following various tests, the presence of the Congo virus was detected.
The spokesperson stated that the patient's condition has shown slight improvement, and the Health Department is maintaining close communication with the Livestock Department.
It is worth noting that this marks the second case of Congo fever reported in Karachi this month, with the previous patient having successfully recovered after receiving treatment.
