KARACHI: Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC), in collaboration with Martin Dow, successfully conducted its inaugural welfare cleft mission recently.
Dr Khurram Ashraf Khan and Dr Paul Kloostra were invited as international delegates from the USA to perform three cleft repair surgeries, working alongside the oral and maxillofacial surgery faculty at JMDC/Medicare Hospital.
Under the leadership of Prof Dr Junaid Lakhani, the team of maxillofacial surgeons, including Dr Uzair Jamal, Dr Huzaifa Saeed ul Khair, and Dr Sadya Siddiqui, delivered post-operative results. Three paediatric patients underwent successful cleft surgeries.
A special event was organised to honour the visiting surgeons and express gratitude to the hosts. A ceremony arranged for awarding shields and certificates was attended by dental faculty and students.
The event concluded with motivational speeches by JMDC Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hussain Mehdi, and Dental College Principal Prof Dr Junaid Lakhani.
