CAMBODIA: ICD, serving since 1920, has the maximum number of registered members in its history, worldwide, these members have been serving the community as well as ICD for several years, their contributions are appreciated and recognised all around the globe.
Section XV is now an integral part of ICD joining hands in the contribution of adding new outstanding professionals to the prestigious list. Due to COVID, physical activities were converted to online seminars and lectures but this year after the lifting of restrictions, a well awaited Conference and Convocation ceremony was planned in Cambodia recently
All countries under the Section XV flag and Fellows and Youth members were invited for the convocation ceremony. Finding this opportunity Pakistan ICD chapter also took a delegate of 20 members including newly elected fellows and speakers for the international conference.
The delegate was led by the Pakistan Regent Prof Dr Arshad Malik and Deputy Regent Prof Dr Nauman Rauf Khan. Along the officials Dr Beenish Zubair carried the designation of General Secretary and Dr Saima Butt as Assistant Secretary. The new fellows selected were Prof Dr Amna Nauman Khan, Dr Asad Mahmood, Dr Fizzah Ali, Dr Hamid Ali Khan, Dr Kashif Adnan, Dr Muhammad Umar Farooq, Dr Samrina Mohammad, Dr Sheraz Burki and Dr Uzair Abu Bakar. Speakers from Pakistan who presented were Prof Dr Arshad Malik (Latest concepts in the prevention of Dry Socket), Prof Nauman Rauf Khan (New AJCC Histopathological reporting system for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma) and Prof Amna Khan (Lasers in Dentistry: A new concept in wound healing).
The conference was attended by a large number of participants where speakers from different countries presented the latest innovations, techniques, and research work. During the convocation FICD, degree was awarded to all new fellows. The convocation and conference concluded with a grand gala dinner where Pakistani delegates presented their traditional dress and song on stage. This was followed by many other countries with their traditional events.
Finally, all the new fellows were invited to a river cruise dinner with the President of Section XV Prof Dr Dato How Kim Chuan to have a city site along the beautiful river canal of Cambodia.
