KARACHI: Prof. Dr. Arshad has recently announced his decision to voluntarily step down from his position as principal of Dow Dental College (DDC), and he is replaced by Dr Naresh Kumar as the new head of the institution.
During his tenure, the college achieved many milestones, including being accorded the A+ category by the Pakistan Medical Commission in 2019. The college also obtained accreditation for FCPS training in all major specialties from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan in both 2021 and 2022 under Dr Arshad.
Dow Dental College made history by becoming the first government sector institute to secure a regular licence from the Sindh Health Care Commission in 2022 under Dr Arshad's leadership.
Prof. Naresh Kumar, a PhD holder from the University of Birmingham, UK, will succeed Dr. Arshad as the new principal. Currently serving as the Chairperson and Professor of Dental Materials at the Dr. Ishrat-Ul-Eabad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences, Prof. Naresh brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
As Dr. Arshad bids farewell to his position, there is optimism that the legacy of excellence he has established will be continued under the leadership of Prof. Naresh Kumar.
It is expected that the new administration will build upon the strong foundation laid by Dr. Arshad, guiding DDC towards further achievements and advancements in dental education and healthcare.
