LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, showing his utter dissatisfaction with the quality of facilities for the patients at the Services Hospital, sought a comprehensive master plan from the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) to develop a master plan for the hospital’s upgrade.
During a visit to the hospital, the CM visited its different departments and taking notice of various issues, including poor state of patients, non-functional air-conditioners, substandard operation theaters, and inadequate hygiene, issued orders to revamp these areas.
Taking on-the-spot action, he ordered removal of the hospital’s finance director for not making payments to the air-conditioning contractor, leading to suspension of the maintenance and repair services which caused a great inconvenience to the patients and doctors.
In response to overcharging complaints, Mr Naqvi ordered cancellation of the parking contract of the hospital and assigned the task to Lahore Parking Company.
He also ordered replacement of old beds and mattresses in the wards, and smooth provision of medicines and other items to the patients.
He said that during his tenure he would ensure the hospital was providing quality healthcare facilities to the patients.
