KARACHI: Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) recently held a one-day workshop themed 'how to prepare an ideal crown and bridge in 15 minutes' collaborating with the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA).
Prof. Dr Mohammad Altamash, Founder and Patron, AIDM, Dr Shaheena Altamash, Executive Dean, AIDM and Director, Altamash General Hospital, Prof. Dr Hasnain Sakrani, Principal, AIDM and Prof. Dr Ambreen Afzal Ehsan, Dean AIDM, graced the event with their presence.
Also in attendance were Dr Mahmood Shah, President, PDA; Dr Anwar Saeed, Vice President, PDA; Dr Murtaza Raza Kazmi and Dr Nasir Khan, Head of Oral Biology Department, KMDC.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr Munir Ahmed and co-facilitated by Dr Saqib Hameed, Dr Naseer Ahmed, and Dr Maria Shakoor Abbasi. He conducted a four hour-session comprising lecture, demonstration, and hands-on workshops and discussed diagnosis, case selection, principles of tooth preparation, and crown & bridge preparation.
The required materials were given to the participants, and a hands-on was carried out in which each participant performed the crown and bridge preparation on phantom teeth. The session ended with queries and feedback from the participants.
PDA also awarded lifetime achievement awards to Dr Mohammad Altamash, Dr Munir Ahmed, Dr Kamran Ahmed Vasfy, and Prof. Dr Ambreen Afzal. The event went successful, and attendees highly appreciated it.
