The ministry refused to issue the notification of their election and asked to hold fresh elections for all the executive positions of council. In the interim period a caretaker setup is expected to be installed to carry out important tasks till the time new administration is elected. This has resulted into the removal of the president and all other officer bearers of PMDC, who were holding positions as result of elections which have been termed as fraudulent and a committee has been constituted to decide the fate of elections of basic members of the council. The work of the committee will start once the judgement of the Lahore High Court on the same issue is announced which is expected on October 30, 2013.The meeting also agreed that the present registrar Dr Amjad Mehmood will be immediately relieved and repatriated to his ministry. Amjad was repatriated by establishment division after ministry’s recommendations two months back but was not being relieved by the PMDC. Amjad is facing serious charges of illegally recognising years old degrees of many graduates of an unrecognized university and PMDC had been rejecting requests of recognition of these post graduates since long on the basis of rules and regulations. According to decisions made by the federal ministry on Friday, after the decision on the fate of elections of basic members of the PMDC, elections for the office bearers of the council will be held again.
