Peshawar: The Sardar Begum Dental College’s Annual Poster Competition was held amongst the 1st year BDS students, on 5th April at Surgeon Muhammad Kabir Auditorium, Gandhara University.
This competition was organized by the Department of Dental Material Sciences and was supervised by Prof Dr. Tahir Ali Khan (Head of Department), Associate Prof Dr. Amjid Naseer and Lecturer Dr. Munazzah Ejaz.
The purpose of this competition was to encourage and motivate students in simulating such activities and to further enhance their presentation skills.
The Heads of various departments alongside faculty members of Sardar Begum Dental College and Kabir Medical College, Peshawar, visited the competition and appreciated the efforts of students.
The faculty members of Sardar Begum Dental College, Khyber College of Dentistry and Peshawar Medical College were cordially invited to assess and judge the poster competition, on the basis of technical content, visual appearance, answers and student contribution.
The students were divided into 7 groups. Poster titles for the competition were unique and were related to research topics of MPhil Dental Material students. The concerned postgraduate students supervised all the groups.
The poster Nanotechnology in Dentistry grabbed 1st position, under the supervision of Dr. Asad with following students: Ubaid Ur Rehman, Hamza Sikander, Nauman Khan, Uzair subhani, Sana Rauf, Zainab Ashraf, Ayesha Irfan, Safeena Hassan, Mahnoor Imtiaz, Sumayya Iqbal and Sherin Zeb.
The poster Micro leakage in Restorative Materials stood 2nd , under the supervision of Dr. Munazzah, with following students: Rumeena Imran, Shanza Khan, Maila Khan, Aimen Nazir, Huzaila Ishfaq, Sidra Ismail, Nofil Zaman, Nauman Shah, Moiz Noor, Saim Arshad and Saad Rehman.
The poster Incorporation of MISWAK in Restorative Materials came 3rd, under the supervision of Dr. Noreen, with following students: Sehrish Khan, Mahnoor Maqssod, Izzah Banori, Sumbal, Ruqayya, Zarghuna Fazal Sher, Suleman Shah, Hassan Laiq, Baharat Kumar, Hassan and Shah Zeb Khan.
The Chancellor, Gandhara University, Mrs. Roeeda Kabir was invited as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the efforts of the Department of Dental Material Sciences and its Faculty members, alongside 1st year BDS students, who actively participated and displayed some great work.
