WOHD’19 at Institute of Dentistry, CMH Lahore Medical College

Lahore- World Oral Health Day is celebrated on 20th March every year. The theme of this year was ‘Say ahh: Act on mouth health’. The Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry, Institute of Dentistry (IOD), CMH Lahore Medical College, in association with Shield Pakistan, organised free



ental camps; one at dental clinics in the premises of the college and the second one at Cantonment General Hospital, Lahore Cantt.  Highlighting the occasion, Dr Bilal Abdul Qayum Mirza, delivered a lecture on the importance of oral health and stressed on the importance of mouth as a gateway to rest of the body. He especially emphasized on maintaining a good oral health and paying regular visits to the dentist. Dr Asma Shakoor, Dr Ali Anwaar, Dr Adeel Ijaz Rana and Dr Mishel Shahid gave oral hygiene instructions and demonstrated brushing techniques. Pamphlets were distributed for awareness of oral hygiene to the general public; free check-up and educational material were provided to the patients attending outpatient department at IOD, CMH Lahore Medical College and at the Cantonment General Hospital in Lahore Cantt.



A symposium on dental pain and its management was also organised at IOD. Speaking on this occasion, Dr Fareed Ahmad (HOD Oral Medicine & Diagnosis Department) shared his knowledge on pain, pathophysiology and its management.
