LAHORE: Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College recently hosted a White Coat ceremony and an orientation seminar, attended by newly enrolled 1st Year MBBS and BDS students, and their parents, marking a symbolic launch of their professional journey.
Under the guidance of Chairman Dr. Farooq Saeed Khan and Co-Chairperson Dr. Fariha Farooq, alongside faculty members, including Principal Dr Khalid Nadeem Butt and Principal Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain, the event aimed to familiarize the students and their parents with the principles and responsibilities integral to the medical and dental professions.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and Na’at-e-Rasool (S.A.W). Dr. Fariha Farooq administered the medical oath, stressing the importance of upholding ethical standards and a commitment to patient care.
Distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Maryam Rahid, Dr. Fariha Qureshi, and Dr. Tajamul, provided essential insights into the college's code of conduct, regulations, and hostel life, ensuring a seamless transition for incoming students.
Dr. Umair Farooq offered an overview of the achievements of the Farooq Group of Companies, showcasing the extensive network of college campuses and hospital branches across Pakistan. Eminent interventional cardiologist Dr. Javaid Ashraf informed students about post-graduation options, particularly in the United States.
Principal Dr. Sabir Hussain and Dean Prof. Dr. Col Iffat Batool addressed the BDS students, underscoring the significance of their role as dental surgeons and instilling principles of professionalism and ethical behavior.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of parents in their children's achievements, Dr. Khalid Butt, Principal of Akhtar Saeed Medical College, encouraged continued support for their education.
The event concluded with an interactive Q/A session led by Dr. Farooq Saeed Khan, providing a platform for parents and students to address any queries or concerns and a lunch for the attendees.
