BSS Workshop at Sir Syed College Of Medical Sciences

Karachi: Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences, oral and maxillofacial surgery department, conducted a “Basic Surgical Skills” workshop.Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences (Dental Chapter) is exploring new academic paradigms under the leadership of Dr. Amir Akber Sheikh. The clinical session was chaired by the Course Director & H.O.D (Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery- OMFS) Dr. Ajeet Kumar Rathi (FCPS).


This session was a continuation of yearly workshops, organized by the Department of OMFS, to broaden the surgical horizon and enhance students’ knowledge. The session was facilitated by Dr. Junaid Shakeel (FCPS-II trainee & Registrar- OMFS), Dr. Muhammad Junaid Iqbal (Registrar- OMFS) and Dr. Nabeel-ur-Rehman (Registrar- OMFS).


The course session was a ‘Two-Day Workshop,’ comprising of an interactive lecture & hands-on workshop, performed on goat heads, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony.


Dr. Ajeet Kumar Rathi addressed the students regarding the importance and application of various surgical principles and techniques, along with the importance of ‘Aseptic Universal Protocols.’


 The chief guest, Prof. Dr. H. R. Sukhiya (Principal, Sir Syed College Of Medical Sciences – Dental Section), awarded certificates to the organizers, course facilitators and students, respectively. The session was preceded by observing “A Minute of Silence” for the sad demise of Dr. Sheikh Moeen (Founder- Sir Syed College Of Medical Sciences).
