ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) organised a convocation ceremony for its medical, dental, nursing and allied health sciences pass-outs at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. 

Hundreds of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) and Nursing Graduates attended the event, along with their parents and family members.
Lt Gen Nigar Johar Khan, former surgeon general/DGMS (IS), was the chief guest of the event that was also attended by the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Tanwir Khaliq and Registrar Dr Maqbool Hussain, besides other academics, intellectuals, corporate and social figures.
IMDC’s Chairman Dr Ghulam Akbar Khan Niazi, Managing Director Yasir Khan Niazi, Principal Prof Dr Syed Irfan Ahmed, Project Director Dr Khurshid Ahmed and Principal Dental Section Prof Dr Haroon Shahid Qazi welcomed the guests. The principal of the IMDC Dental Section administered the oath to the graduates.
Gen Nigar presented medals to the best graduates and acknowledged the efforts of IMDC to impart high-quality education to the students. She advised the graduates to uphold the best professional ethics during their practice. 

"I am confident that you will make your college and your country proud of you through your hard work, perseverance and dedicated service to humanity," she said, addressing the graduates.

Conferment of the MDS, MPil, MSc, MBBS, BDS, DPT, MLT, Post RN BSN degrees was done by the SZABMU VC, who in his address told the graduates that they were passing out from a reputed college and the knowledge and training gained at IMDC would help them build a successful career in the sacred field of medicine. 

IMDC Principal Prof Dr Syed Irfan Ahmed advised the graduates to keep learning new knowledge and enhancing their professional skills to be able to better serve the ailing humanity.
College’s Chairman Dr Niazi, Managing Director Yasir Khan Niazi, Principal Prof Dr. Syed Irfan Ahmed, Project Director Dr Khurshid Ahmed and Principal Dental Section Prof Dr Haroon Shahid Qazi congratulated the graduates, their families, as well as the IMDC faculty and management.
IMDC management said the college is always following its motto of “providing a base to serve humanity,” and will keep making significant contributions in the field of medical education and healthcare.
Earlier, IMDC had organised a graduation dinner with a music gala, where graduates turned out in large numbers and enjoyed.
