RAWALPINDI: The Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry conducted an oral health awareness program recently, in the city's private schools.
MIHS has been arranging awareness programs and free dental camps since its inception under the guidance of worthy Dr Samie Qadir (Vice Chairman of MIHS). The dental team included Dr Sadia Sajjad (HOD Community & Preventive Dentistry), Dr Faiza Siddiqa, Dr Wasif Awan, House officers and Second year BDS students.
The team performed free dental screening of the children and teachers. The purpose of the visit was to educate children regarding oral health, brushing techniques, healthy diet, prevention of common dental problems and the importance of regular dental checkups. This activity also provided students with the opportunity to acquire communication skills, group dynamics, dental ethics, and community problem identification. School administrations appreciated the work of the dental team of MIHS.
