LAHORE: Young athletes from the Center for Special Needs (CSN) underwent essential dental screenings as part of the Special Olympics Pakistan's Special Smiles initiative at Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College, Bahria Town, Lahore.
The event marked a milestone in the efforts to enhance the health and well-being of individuals with special needs.
Speaking on behalf of the special children, Mrs Nuzhat expressed gratitude and appreciation to the individuals and entities who made the event possible. She particularly mentioned the contribution of the Special Smiles Clinical Director Dr Iffat Batool, whose commitment and leadership were instrumental in the success of the initiative.
Mrs. Nuzhat also acknowledged the dedication of the team of volunteer doctors who took out time and offered their expertise for the crucial dental screenings, showing the spirit of community service.
During the event, Dr Batool demonstrated proper brushing techniques to the CSN athletes, using model dentures to ensure the practice of good oral hygiene. The athletes showed enthusiasm in learning, demonstrating their keenness to embrace this crucial aspect of their overall well-being.
Prof Col Iffat Batool, who is also the Dean of Dentistry at Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College, thanked all those involved in the exercise, expressing the commitment to continue the mission of creating inclusive and healthier communities for individuals with special needs through initiatives like Special Smiles.
