QUETTA: Quetta police have recently rejected some social media activists' claim that a female student who participated in a rally against alleged irregularities in the online entry test to Bolan Medical College died of police's baton charging and shelling of tear gas.
Some social media activists claimed that Hani Baloch died from injuries she received during the baton charge.
"A female student, identified as Hani Baloch, was died of natural causes and such claims were the propaganda against the police ", a spokesperson for the police said.
Later, Aurangzeb, a cousin of Hani Baloch, a central information secretary of the Baloch Students Organisation, also rejected the claims that she died due to the police's baton charge and said his cousin was not feeling well for some time.
Earlier, the Quetta police had taken over fifty students from different areas of Balochistan into custody. Several others were injured after police baton-charged them for protesting at the city's Edhi Chowk.
