By Our Staff Reporter Peshawar : The Peshawar High Court has issued notices to the health secretary, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and joint admission committee for not admitting students hailing from Balochistan and Fata to Khyber Medical College (KMC). The court also issued an interim order allowing those students to attend classes. A division bench comprising Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Irshad Qaiser heard a petition filed by Attaullah, Amir Shinwari, Shahrukh and others through their lawyer, Advocate Ijaz Anwar. The bench was informed that Attaullah got admission to Khyber Medical College on seats allocated for Balochistan, while Shahrukh and Shinwari on seats reserved for Fata. However, the joint admission committee refused to admit them. According to Anwar, PMDC had, through a notification, restrained the committee from admitting students on allotted seats. He contended that it was the students’ legal and constitutional right to be granted admission against their reserved seats. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court issued a notice to KP health secretary and others, seeking a reply from them.
