Crown and Bridge workshop held at Bahria University

Karachi: The 3rd International conference of Pakistan Prosthodontics Association, and a hands-on workshop on mandatory skills for Crown and Bridge Practice was recently conducted by Bahria University Medical & Dental College.

The workshop led by Dr. Mohammad Abdalla Al Rabab’ah, Head of Department (Conservative Dentistry), University of Jordan. The program was designed to benefit the participants in gaining knowledge, confidence and to enhance their handling skills during Crown and Bridge procedures.

Dental students, post-graduate trainees and house officers from different universities attended and actively participated in the workshop. The session which commenced with a welcome speech by the principal of BUM&DC Dr. Nasreen Amanat, was followed by a series of interesting lectures by Dr. Rabab’ah, and ended with an interactive Q&A Session. The closing speech was given by the Director General Bahria University, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers in providing students with a unique learning platform. President PDA, Dr. Saqib Rashid also graced the event with his presence.

The second half of the session included a live demonstration by Dr. Rabab’ah, after which participants practiced Crown & Bridge techniques on phantom heads in the laboratory. This state of the art phantom head laboratory was designed especially for conducting such workshops at BUM&DC.

Pakistan Prosthodontics Association & Pakistan Dental Association together with Dr. Saman, Head of Department of Prosthodontics at BUM&DC, Dr. Sameer Quraeshi, Dr. Syed Ahmed Omer, Dr. Kulsoom Rizvi & Dr. Daud Mirza to organize this workshop under the guidance of Dr. Nasreen Amanat, Principal BUM&DC.

Certificates of participation were awarded to all participants towards the end of the workshop. The event evoked a positive response from the participants and was well appreciated by all attendees.
