LAHORE: Institute of Advanced Dental Sciences and Research (IADSR) recently conducted a one-day workshop on 'Anterior Tooth Aesthetic Restoration with Style Italiano Technique'.
Dr Salman Ashraf facilitated the session. He allowed participants to describe the limitations they counter while restoring the anterior teeth with composite. He also asked about their expectations from the workshop.
Dr Ashraf indulged in 4 hour-long sessions comprising lectures and short exercises, including shade matching and anterior teeth drawing per Golden Proportion.
Later on, a hands-on workshop was carried out in which each participant followed a series of steps involved in the restoration of Class IV on central incisors. It includes applying a rubber dam to the repairing and polishing of composite restorations through the dental loupes.
Dr Ashraf provided each participant with the required instruments and materials, including the Style Italiano kit. He elucidated all the names and purposes of the tools, i.e. Applica, Condensa, Fissura, Misura and Eccesso, present in the kit to the participants before the practical application.
The session concluded by asking participants to fill a detailed feedback form that showed that the workshop's learning objectives were adequately achieved.
