WELLINGTON - A woman in New Zealand has recently died of Myocarditis after receiving a Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine. It is the first death of its kind in New Zealand.
Myocarditis is an inflammation of the heart muscle that can limit the heart's ability to pump blood adequately and lead to changes in cardiac rhythms.
The health ministry said that Myocarditis had been a rare but known side effect of the Pfizer vaccine. The ministry further added that the benefits of vaccination with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine continued to greatly outweigh the risk of COVID-19 infection and vaccine side effects, including Myocarditis.
