IADSR hosts hands-On workshop on Advanced Endodontics techniques

LAHORE: A two-day hands-on workshop on “Endodontics” was successfully conducted at the Institute of Advanced Dental Sciences and Research (IADSR) as part of the 17th Professional Diploma in Advanced General Dentistry (PDAGD) program. The workshop, led by the Dr. Salman Aziz, offered an immersive learning experience for participants keen on enhancing their expertise in endodontic procedures.
The first module delved into manual endodontics, where Dr. Salman meticulously explained various diagnostic tests essential for endodontic examinations. Participants explored the principles and objectives of access cavity preparation, building on these foundations by constructing pre-endodontic build-ups, restoring proximal ridges, and performing precise access openings.
The second module focused on familiarizing attendees with the dimensions and types of burs used in endodontics. Participants learned to recognize and utilize these tools effectively, alongside determining the tooth's working length. Practical sessions included initial fillings and endodontic procedures using manual ProTaper files, providing attendees with valuable hands-on experience.
Dr. Salman also introduced the principles of rotary endodontics, demonstrating each step of the procedure with clarity. Participants applied their knowledge by performing endodontic therapy on a given tooth using the ProTaper Universal Rotary System, gaining critical insights into advanced techniques. Dr. Salman addressed challenges faced by attendees during the procedures, ensuring a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
This highly interactive workshop achieved its desired learning outcomes and left participants equipped with advanced endodontic skills. With its practical approach and expert facilitation, the event exemplified IADSR's commitment to fostering professional growth in dentistry.
