ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Medical and Dental College (IMDC) dentists provided free oral healthcare guidance and services to underprivileged students at a community school in Rawalpindi in connection with the World Oral Health Day.
The outreach programme was conducted at the Qalam School, a trust-funded institute for impoverished children.
The activity was organised by the IMDC community dentistry department under the guidance of the Head of the Department (HoD)Dr Sheze Haroon, along with faculty members Dr Saba Masoud and Dr Shandana Sher. Other team members included house officers from Islamabad Dental Hospital(IDH), dental technicians and 2nd-Year BDS students.
The event included informative oral health sessions, oral screening, and basic procedures such as extractions of deciduous teeth, ARTs and SDF fillings, while the complex cases were referred to IDH for further treatment.
The college also distributed free dental hygiene kits among the students and teachers.
The students appreciated the services provided by the team of dentists under the outreach programme that was a testament to the commitment of IDH to promoting oral health and hygiene, especially among vulnerable communities.
