KARACHI: Under the directives and supervision of Prof Dr Navid Rashid Qureshi, Principal College of Dentistry (LCMD) the “Annual Research Day” was organised at Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry. The aim of the event was to encourage and promote research culture and rigor amongst undergraduates in the institute.
The event was organised by the student scientific committee, undergraduate which was established in 2021 chaired by Dr Amna Rehman, Assistant Professor, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Secretary Dr Samreen Malik, Senior Registrar Oral Medicine who trained and facilitated the faculty and undergraduate students to conduct research independently. A total of 106 students participated with full enthusiasm and zeal under supervision of 20 faculty members and presented 31 research posters.
Prof Dr Zaki uddin Ahmed, a visionary strategist, healthcare entrepreneur, a physician leader, coach & speaker was invited as a chief guest in this event.
Prof. Dr. Mansoor ul haq (LNH), Prof Dr Huma Shareef (JSMU), Prof Dr Mehwish Kashif (KMDC), were invited as jury members to honor this event.
Prof Dr Athar Khan, Prof Dr Uzma Zareef, Dr Anees ur Rehman, Dr Yabinda Sahrish , Dr Asad Farooq, and Dr Sadaf Mashood honored the event as internal jury members.
Out of 31 posters 6 best were awarded with cash prize from the respected Principal and chief guest. All participants received certificates for appreciation. It was a brainstorming and striking event of research for the students as well as faculty.
