MULTAN: Community outreach initiative by the Nishtar Institute of Dentistry’ (NID) gold medalist post graduate Dr Sajal Khan, completes 25 oral health awareness sessions across south Punjab within a year.

These sessions, aimed at educating both children and parents, focused on proper oral hygiene practices, including correct brushing techniques and debunking common myths.

The awareness drives are conducted in schools, orphanages, women’s and children’s organisations, and hospitals, benefitting a wide range of communities.

Dr Khan’s initiative, “Beat ECC with Dr Sajal Khan,” has been supported by south Punjab specialised healthcare department and the NID.

NID Community Department head Dr Muhammad Imran commended Dr Sajal’s efforts, stating, "The way she has united different sectors, including media, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare, is truly inspirational. Completing over 25 sessions as a postgraduate trainee makes her a beacon of hope in tackling the growing oral health challenges, especially among children."

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khan said, “A better quality of life is unattainable with poor oral care. We must prevent damage before it becomes irreversible.”
