KARACHI: The Faculty of Oral Medicine and Periodontology at Hamdard University Dental Hospital recently hosted a one-day hands-on workshop on dental splints for 3rd-year BDS students.
The session included practical exercises on a goat mandible and began with a presentation by Dr Amna Arsalan, followed by a live demonstration from Dr Mehmil Aslam, Associate Professor of Oral Medicine.
Other facilitators of the workshop included Dr Amna Arsalan, Dr Bilal Ansari, Dr Hafsa Feroz, and Dr Simrat Mohan, who also organised the event. The workshop aimed to emphasise the significance of precision in managing periodontal trauma and to enhance students’ practical skills, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge.
The students actively participated in the exercise involving real patient scenarios. The event concluded with student feedback and a certificate distribution ceremony led by the Head of the Department and Principal, Prof. Syed Imran Hasan.
