
KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA: From July 1 to August 31, 2024, monsoon rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have claimed the lives of at least 88 people, according to a report by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The fatalities include 43 children and 19 women. In addition, 129 people have been injured in rain-related incidents, with 61 of the injured being children and 29 women.
The monsoon rains have also significantly impacted housing in the province. A total of 958 houses were affected, with 260 completely destroyed and 698 partially damaged. Furthermore, the PDMA report notes that 7 school buildings have sustained damage and 147 cattle have died due to the severe weather conditions across various districts.
