DN Report KARACHI- The PDA (CC) Elections have been postponed and a new date will be announced soon. Talking to Dental News Prof Waheed ul Hameed informed that the elections which were scheduled for December 20th have been delayed because on the instructions of the Chief Election Commissioner Justice Retd. Afzaal Haider, PDA has sought clarification from the Sindh High Court about voters list. Dr. Waheed said that it is his earnest desire to hold free and fair elections where all the 15000 dentists from Pakistan are eligible to vote and select a panel which is a true representative of the dental fraternity in Pakistan. He also confirmed that most of the procedural work including the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner has already been done. The next hearing is now in January and hopefully a new date will be announced then. However, officially, two panels have announced to participate in the upcoming PDA elections - one headed by Dr Saqib Rashid and the other is the Pakistan United Dental.
