KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has confirmed 29 more coronavirus cases in the Sindh province in the past 24 hours, taking the reported case toll to 469 in the province.
Media Coordinator to the Health Minister, Meeran Yousuf, said that a total of 469 coronavirus patients had been reported across the Sindh province so far, out of which 265 are from Taftan in Sukkur, 189 are in Karachi, seven are from Iran in Larkana, seven are in Hyderabad, and one is in Dadu.
She further informed that 14 people have recovered from this viral illness in Sindh while 182 are still under treatment in Karachi. She further informed that 132 out of a total of 185 cases in Karachi are locally transmitted. 4,810 tests have been performed in Sindh so far, out of which 469 tested positive.
It is pertinent to mention here that a total of 1,865 cases of coronavirus have been detected across Pakistan to date, out of which 652 are in Punjab, 627 are in Sindh, 221 are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 153 are in Baluchistan, 148 are in Gilgit-Baltistan, 58 are in Islamabad, and 6 are in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
A total of 25 deaths due to the coronavirus have also been registered in the country, out of which four were in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four were in Punjab, and one each was recorded in Sindh, Baluchistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan, according to government data.
Globally, more than 627,182 have been affected by the coronavirus, out of which 28,705 have succumbed to the ailment. An estimated 141,583 have recovered from the disease while 23,076 are in critical condition.
