Ziauddin College of Nursing Conducts Seminar on ‘Patient Safety’

KARACHI- Ziauddin College of Nursing recently organized a seminar on ‘Patient Safety and Care.’


Acting Director Nursing, Sindh, Mr Shabbir Jhatial was invited to the occasion as the honorable Chief Guest.


While addressing the audience, he greatly appreciated the role of nurses in our society and the effort they put into their duties with utmost sincerity.


He motivated the nurses by giving them a status of being an important figure in healthcare system. He encouraged them to use their theoretical thinking and practical wisdom for not only the betterment of patients, but also to meet the standard of their profession.


Addressing the matter of patient safety and care, special guest, Khairunnisa Akbar, Controller Sindh Nurses Examination Board (SNEB), stated that the ratio of people dying from road accidents is increasing day by day. She stressed upon the need for well-trained and responsible nurses, to provide urgent assistance to such patients.


Barrister Ali Tahir discussed regarding the Litigation and Patient’s Right, whilst mentioning that the patients have all the rights to take the healthcare provider to court, if he faces any negligence by their hands.


Khairunnisa Hooda, Sr. Business Manager, AKUH, spoke about improving the system of patient safety in different health organizations, and instructed the health professionals regarding the ethics of patient care.


Earlier, Pirzada Qasim, Vice Chancellor Ziauddin University, also shared his thoughts related to the workforce of nurses. He mentioned that the entire healthcare system relies on this profession. Furthermore, he added that nurses deserve utmost respect and appreciation from everyone and that all fields of healthcare system should work together to upgrade our infrastructure of health, by providing the health workers with proper training.
