ISLAMABAD: Doctors from Rawalpindi and Islamabad jointly staged a 'Gaza March' at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza and vehemently condemning the war crimes being perpetrated by Israel against innocent Palestinians.
Organized by the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), the rally commenced at the main gate of PIMS, and after passing through the emergency section, culminated at the metro station. A large number of male and female medical professionals from various hospitals and institutions of the twin cities actively participated in the demonstration.
The participants displayed placards bearing messages including "Israel Is Criminal; Those Remaining Silent are Supporting it", "Gaza Hospitals Under Attack”. They also vociferously chanted slogans denouncing both Israel and the US, demanding global accountability and intervention.
Dr Iftikhar Burney, Central General Secretary of PIMA, addressed the gathering, shedding light on the dire situation in Gaza and urging swift international action.
He urged the world powers to not to remain silent as hospitals, civilians, and the innocent suffer as a result of Israel’s barbarity, putting humanity itself under threat.
